7,996 miles - So... what does super-charged mean??
Tuesday (02/08) was Tech Night at Prestige MINI. I was looking forward to this event since I wanted to learn more about the mechanics of my toy car. When I arrived at the dealership's service garage there were a bunch of attendees, technicians and -- why didn't I see this coming?!? -- sales staff. There was also a nice spread of finger foods (crackers, shrimp, cookies, cheese, fruits and veggies), soda and wine.
I ended up just talking shop with a bunch of other MINI owners, some of whom I've already met through other MINI-meets. We checked out the new JCW Coopers on the floor, inspected the MINIs on the lifts, discussed all the mods done to our MINIs, and talked about all the mods we plan on doing to our tiny vehicles... sampled the food and wine...
But I never did talk to any of the technicians. I did speak to a few sales people. I was curious about powertrain warranty, asked about the new car covers available (they look really nice!), and inquired about having the black plastic trim on my MINI painted to match the body.
When all was said and done, I did not learn anything new about the mechanics of my MINI... which was the main reason I attended. I honestly thought there was going to be a formal class with attendees gathered around a MINI and a technician walking them through the drivetrain. Man was I wrong... Yet the evening was fun nonetheless. Good times are practically guaranteed every time you hang around people who share your passions.
Motor on everybody!
BTW, work has been slow and I had extra magnetic sheet, so I cut my motoring ID again and stuck it to my truck! HAhaha... let's see if any MINIacs notice and hit me back!
